Your rights

Delete your account

Closing your VARENTO account and erasing your personal record is self-serve, identity-checked and fully logged.

How it works

1 — Raise an erasure request

Open the data-rights portal and choose 'Erasure'. You can start this whether or not you are signed in; the request is recorded the moment you submit it.

2 — Verify it is you

Erasure requests require identity verification before anything is deleted. You confirm details that match the record we hold, so nobody can delete someone else's history.

3 — We review and confirm

Your employer's data controller reviews the request. You get a written outcome within one month, as required by the UK GDPR, and every step is written to the audit log.

4 — Deletion and confirmation

Your profile, photo, uploaded certificates and contact details are removed from live systems and backups are aged out on their normal cycle.

What cannot be deleted straight away

The right to erasure is not absolute. Where the law requires a record to be kept, we keep the narrowest version of it and tell you exactly what was retained and why.

  • Health and safety records tied to a site accident or claim, for the statutory claim window.
  • Financial and timesheet records needed for tax, payroll and audit obligations.
  • Anonymous, aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you.
  • The audit entry proving your deletion request was received and actioned.

Not sure deletion is what you need?

You can also ask for a copy of your data, correct a mistake, or restrict how your record is shared — without closing the account.
